The “Bama Barbie” Takes Paris Outside The Box In Structured Alexander Wang

PARIS — Paris Haute Couture Week 2026 is underway, and rising model and fashion standout Olandria Carthen made a soft, sculptural statement in Alexander Wang while attending the designer’s after party. 

Held in late January, Paris Haute Couture Week Spring/Summer 2026 remains one of fashion’s most exclusive events, showcasing high-end designs and emerging trends from leading houses including Chanel, Dior and Schiaparelli. The week draws global attention as designers present detailed, handcrafted collections that set the tone for the season ahead.

Carthen attended multiple presentations throughout the week, but one look in particular drew attention. Following an earlier appearance in a bold, gold-toned experimental piece, she shifted into a more minimal look that still carried impact. Wearing American designer Alexander Wang, known for blending luxury with streetwear, Carthen embraced a design that focused on shape and structure.

The white two-piece set resembled soft, pillow-like forms, using clean, geometric shapes that contrasted with Carthen’s natural curves. The cropped top featured a boxy shape that sat slightly away from the body, finished with a clean, structured neckline. The matching mini skirt carried that same firm shape, creating a consistent silhouette.

The Love Island USA alum and Wang have previously worked together in 2025 as an extension of the #WangIntheWild campaign, where celebrities are spotted in the designer’s pieces on the go.
